At a glance
- The initial Instrument Brief is free.
- The ToneVector Assessment is a separate paid technical service. Its fee is shown before the assessment begins.
- If you commission the guitar, the full ToneVector Assessment Fee is credited against the final guitar price.
- A guitar order begins only after the final Build Specification and quotation are approved.
- You may keep our voluntary 15 day cancellation period, or ask us to release the approved order earlier.
- Production begins only after the applicable approval and payment requirements are complete.
1. Scope
This policy applies to FB Guitars instruments configured for an individual customer from an FB Guitars design, including Lightning Mark III and Anubis where offered. FB Guitars does not offer reproductions of another manufacturer’s guitar design.
For this policy, the Build Specification is the final written specification approved by the customer. The Total Order Price is the full quoted price of the guitar and agreed options, together with tax and shipping charges collected by FB Guitars where applicable.
2. Free Instrument Brief
The Instrument Brief records your starting preferences, such as model, string count, tuning, bridge type, scale preference, pickups, playing context and tone goals. You may leave questions open.
The brief is free. It is not an order, quotation, manufacturing specification or ToneVector result. FB Guitars reviews the brief before deciding what should move to technical assessment.
3. ToneVector Assessment
After the Instrument Brief is reviewed, the next technical stage may be a ToneVector Assessment. The assessment uses the guitar and player information to support decisions including pickup choice and placement.
A ToneVector Assessment Fee applies before the assessment begins. The amount and scope are confirmed to you first. The fee pays for the assessment service and is separate from a later guitar order.
If you proceed to commission the assessed guitar, the full ToneVector Assessment Fee paid for that commission is credited against the Total Order Price.
If you do not commission the guitar after the assessment has been provided, the fee is not converted into a general store credit or guitar deposit. Any statutory rights relating to the assessment service remain unaffected. Where applicable law gives a consumer a withdrawal period for a service and you ask FB Guitars to begin during that period, FB Guitars may require the express request, consent or acknowledgement required by law and will apply any mandatory refund or proportionate payment rules that apply.
4. Final Build Specification and quotation
After assessment and review, FB Guitars may prepare a proposed Build Specification and quotation. These identify the agreed FB Guitars model, configuration, applicable options, price, tax treatment, shipping, estimated lead time and order terms.
You must review and approve the final Build Specification and quotation. A saved configuration, Instrument Brief, ToneVector Assessment or estimate does not by itself release a guitar into production.
5. FB Guitars 15 Day Voluntary Cancellation Period
FB Guitars voluntarily gives customers 15 calendar days to reconsider an approved custom configured guitar order before production is released. This is an additional commercial facility and does not replace any mandatory statutory right.
If you keep this voluntary period, production is not released during those 15 calendar days. The order confirmation will state when the period ends. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the remaining Total Order Price becomes due after the period expires.
6. Immediate Production Election
If you are satisfied with the final Build Specification, you may ask FB Guitars to proceed without waiting for the voluntary 15 day period to expire.
You must actively confirm the final Build Specification, request immediate production release and give up the remaining FB Guitars voluntary change of mind period. Any mandatory statutory right that cannot lawfully be waived remains unaffected.
7. Payment and production release
No guitar is released into production until the final Build Specification is approved, FB Guitars has accepted the order and the required cleared payment has been received.
Where the ToneVector Assessment Fee is being credited, the credit is shown against the Total Order Price. It is not charged twice.
Shipping, tax, customs duties, import VAT, brokerage or destination charges are handled as stated in the quotation. Charges not collected by FB Guitars may remain payable by the customer to the relevant carrier or authority.
8. Final custom order and later changes
Once the Build Specification is locked, payment has cleared and FB Guitars has accepted and released the order into production, the order is final for ordinary change of mind purposes, subject always to mandatory law.
Any later requested change is subject to feasibility, production stage, additional cost and a revised written agreement. FB Guitars is not required to accept a change that would compromise the instrument, work already completed or the agreed production process.
9. Exceptional goodwill resale
In exceptional circumstances, FB Guitars may choose to consider a conforming custom configured guitar for resale. This is discretionary. It is not a refund, cancellation right or guaranteed repurchase.
Written approval is required before any guitar is returned. FB Guitars may require inspection and a separate resale agreement covering condition, price, costs, transport, insurance, restoration and what happens if the guitar is not sold. Unless otherwise agreed, the customer bears the cost and risk of sending the guitar to FB Guitars for this purpose.
10. Legal rights and contact
Nothing in this policy excludes, limits or modifies a consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, limited or modified. Custom configured or personalised goods may be treated differently from ordinary stock goods under applicable withdrawal rules.
Questions about an assessment or order should be sent to info@fbguitars.com.
