Forged by Science. Driven by Tone.

What tone are you chasing?

Choose Lightning Mark III or Anubis. We engineer your FB Guitar around how you play, then use ToneVector to refine its tonal configuration.

The FB Guitars approach

Performance by design. Tone by science.

FB Guitars are original performance instruments. We design from the player outwards. Weight, balance, access, neck feel, hardware and player contact points are treated as one system.

ToneVector adds the tonal layer. It helps us analyse the instrument, tuning, strings, pickup options and how the guitarist plays, so that pickup choice and placement can be refined for the target tone.

Every part has a job.

Form follows function

Built to disappear in your hands.

LightweightMass is controlled rather than added without purpose.
Ultra low profileBody and neck are developed for close, unrestricted playing.
BalancedWeight distribution is engineered to reduce unwanted neck or headstock dip.
ErgonomicAccess, contact points and controls are considered around the player.

We do not add a feature because it is traditional or fashionable. It has to serve the player.

ToneVector

Pickup placement should be calculated, not assumed.

ToneVector studies the relationship between string behaviour, scale geometry, tuning, harmonic behaviour, pickup characteristics and playing intent. It helps us compare pickup options and refine placement for the individual guitar.

Genre gives musical context. The recommendation is not a fixed genre position. It belongs to the instrument and the player.

From prototype to stage

The philosophy has been played.

Lightning Mark II was our development prototype. It received the Malta Intellectual Property Creative Innovation Award in 2023, then reached real stages in the hands of Maltese guitarists.

“That blue V is an absolute beast, and it was a genuine pleasure to put it through its paces on stage!”

Start simply

Choose the guitar. Tell us how you play.

  1. Choose Lightning Mark III or Anubis.
  2. Complete the free Instrument Brief. Tell us about your tuning, playing, hardware and tone.
  3. FB Guitars reviews the configuration.
  4. Move to the ToneVector Assessment. The assessment fee is credited in full against the guitar price if you commission the instrument.

Your tone is the starting point.

Choose your FB Guitar and start the brief. We will take you through the engineering from there.
